Did you know that every year since 1993, March 22nd is World Water Day?
Yup, groundwater gets a day too! And while this post might seem like it is going in some geo-political-rant, it’s not. Groundwater is important and impacts every individual on the planet but, today we are just celebrating water and sustainability! Something to be grateful for.
So, let’s give a shout out for the ballet brands who are making sustainable and conscious choices for the arts! Not to mention, that most of these brands are female and minority owned!
Cloud and Victory: woman owned, ethically sourced and made, Asian-owned and sustainable products. Whoot Whoot!
Imperfect Pointes: Mother/Daughter owned and made, and completely sustainable (including shipping bags) and certified. Bravo!
Cynthia King’s Vegan Ballet Slippers: woman owned, minority-owned, and vegan certified ballet slippers!
Dans-EZ: Did you know the Royal Ballet School is going green? This company will be designing and producing the new Royal Ballet School uniforms that will be sustainable.
Yumiko is also now shipping in recycled and compostable bags, and has dedicated more energies and efforts to lower waste.
And don’t forget to read this wonderful article by Liz Weldon, about a new sustainable ballet school: Mosa Ballet.
Isn’t it wonderful to see such all of the female, minority, eco friendly businesses rocking the ballet world?
Don’t forget… if you want to make eco friendly choices when it comes to ballet, it can be as easy as reducing or stopping the use of plastic water bottles.
